How to Re-establish the sleep button disabled by windows Vista

Tech Advice:1

Windows Vista has a lot of bugs and I would like to personally request Bill Gates to introduce a service pack in order to solve the Vista issues.
You might be surprised that you can have your Sleep option Disabled after you perform an update in Windows Vista.
Don’t worry, I have found a solution to this annoying problem.

Hacking Registry

Hacking registry is a tricky part because even a single wrong entry can corrupt your operating system.

Follow the steps carefully, so that you don’t harm your operating system. Open the Run command window and type “regedit”.

After the registry editor opens up, search for the following path:
 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU
Add a new 32-bit DWORD value called NoAUAsDefaultShutdownOption and assign value as 1. Check again and you will definitely find your sleep button back.
 Registry Hack for basic users

You can download the registry hack, if you a basic user and you feel that you might hurt your registry accidentally. Unzip the file and open the following file:

 StopHijackingMySleepButton.reg
Press yes you add the contents of the file to the registry. This registry hack is meant only for Windows Vista users.
