↣ If some of it isn’t then pay particular attention to the non-HCL hardware in your troubleshooting.
↣ Check for viruses.
↣ Investigate recently added software.
↣ Examine and try disabling BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.

Boot up with XP disk in the drive.
↣ follow the instructions like press any key to continue until you get to the part were it ask do you want to install XP or repair.
↣ Choose install don’t worry the next screen will offer you
↣ The chance to pick reapir again.
↣ Now at the next screen choose repair.
↣ You will need your Serial number handy.
↣ what will happen it will ask for your serial number
↣ and go through a process as if it is installing XP.
↣ When it is finished by rights all should be fine again.
↣ You will of lost no settings.
↣ Except you will have lost and microsoft updates so you will have to reinstall service pack 1 again and any other critical updates.
