 Investigate recently added software.
 Examine and try disabling BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.

Boot up with XP disk in the drive.

 follow the instructions like press any key to continue until you get to the part were it ask do you want to install XP or repair.
 Choose install don’t worry the next screen will offer you
 The chance to pick reapir again.
 Now at the next screen choose repair.
 You will need your Serial number handy.
 what will happen it will ask for your serial number
 and go through a process as if it is installing XP.
 When it is finished by rights all should be fine again.
 You will of lost no settings.
 Except you will have lost and microsoft updates so you will have to reinstall service pack 1 again and any other critical updates.
