If you are using a subnet and you are having problems talking to another subnet through TCP/IP, the following step can help you to determine if the problem is with the router.
How to Test a TCP/IP Router
Step 1
↣ Click on Start >> Click on Run
↣ Type in The Run Box >> CMD
↣ Ok
↣ Now Type In the CMD Box
↣ ping your system IP
If this PING works, your node is probably okay.
↣ Click on Start >> Click on Run
↣ Type in The Run Box
↣ CMD
↣ Ok
↣ Now Type In the CMD Box
↣ ping IP of the nearby system on the same network.
If this PING works, this side of the router is okay.
↣ Click on Start >> Click on Run
↣ Type in The Run Box
↣ CMD
↣ Ok
↣ Now Type In the CMD Box
↣ ping ip of the system of different network
If this PING works, the router is working.
↣ Click on Start >> Click on Run
↣ Type in The Run Box
↣ CMD
↣ Ok
↣ Now Type In the CMD Box
↣ ping ip of the remote host computer
↣ If this works, TCP/IP should be working fine.
