How to fix Error Code 0x0000005 XP Start up

To use the Disk Defragmenter tool to work around this problem, follow these steps:

 To start the Defragmentation tool, right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
  Click on Disk Management, and then click Disk Defragmenter.
  Select a volume to defragment, and then click the Defragment button.
 After Defragmentation Completed dialog box is displayed, click the Close button.
  Wait until the Analysis and Defragmentation displays are updated and the volume is enumerated. You may see a Resizing the color image message as the displays are being updated Exit the Defragmentation tool.

 Please do the follow steps:
  Click Start.
  In the Search bar type regedit and press Enter.
  Look for the following key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\SysPlant
  Locate the subkey Start and change the value to 4.
  Reboot the computer to make the change effective.

If instead you don’t have any Symantec software, maybe your issue is due to its sandbox which causes Google Chrome to crash.

To solve it follow these simple steps:

  Right-click on the Google Chrome icon yes, the one on your desktop
  Click the shortcut tab.
  Add this code to the end of the Target line and don’t forget to put a space between.

 In many cases this error has been generated by faulty RAM memory.
 So if you have just upgraded your computer with some new memory and you started getting this error then I would remove them and see if the error goes away.
 If it does then send the memory back and get a refund!

 Poorly written/updated software and more commonly under Windows XP Service pack 2

Malware/adware installations.
