Try this method to fix  UPDMGR.EXE virus

Please start your computer in safe mode.

To go into safe mode -- Press F8 key as soon as the pc restarts.

(You will have do again if pc starts in normal mode.)

You would see a black screen as soon as you hit f8.

On the black screen >> select the option that says

Safe mode with Networking

Click On My Computer & double-click on Drive C

Program Files >> Common Files

In this directory you'll search the updmgr folder

Right-click on the UPDMGR folder & delete it from your system.

Then close the windows and return to your desktop

Open Registry Editor

Click Start Menu >>> Click Run Button >>> Type regedit in the Open Box

Then click OK

Caution : Incorrect Registry Editing can cause serious problems.

In the Registry Editor click the pluses(+) next to the following keys

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> Software >> Microsoft >> Windows >> CurrentVersion

>>Run

In the right-hand column find the entry for UPDMGR

Right click on it & delete it.  

Close the Registry Editor Window & reboot your computer.  |
