The computer keeps disconnecting from the Internet



Tech Advise:1

This one can raise suspicions of malware.
But before you reformat your computer

Please do the following steps

Click On Internet Explorer >> Tools menu >>click Internet Options &  then click the Connections tab.

Under Dial-up or Virtual Private Network settings click the Settings button.

Under Dial-up settings  click the Advanced button &  make sure that Disconnect when connection may no longer be required check box is cleared &  that the Disconnect if idle check box is cleared as well.

Click on Outlook Express >> Tools menu >> click Options  &  then click the Connection tab.
Turn off the option to Hang up after sending &  receiving &  then close the Options window
click on tools menu  click Accounts &  then click the Mail tab.
Make sure that each connection is set to use any Available.
If not highlight the account then click on Properties.
Click the Connection tab &  ensure that the option always connect to this account using is turned off.



Tech Advise:2

Please do the following steps

Click on Start Menu>>Control Panel >> Internet options >> Connections > Settings > Advanced:
Remove the ticks from both of the 'Disconnect if Idle for boxes.

Fast User switching also causes some of these problems I've seen it in XP where it causes a drop of internet connection before.
Turn off screensavers. Use the "Turn off monitor" feature instead.
